Fixing the Shadows Overview
Fixing The Shadows is a documentary that is exploring many subjects of the history of cameras and photography. It started of with two methods on how to solve the problem of "fixing the shadows". And then it shows us how photography developed through the years with many inventions that made photography what it is today. What I found really interesting is the camera obscure which you can do it by going into a dark room in a daylight and covering all the windows except leaving a hole in one of the window covers. There will be a moving picture of the view outside the window on the oppisite wall, but it'll be upside down!
Other thing the documentary talked about is the daguerreotype which is a type of process that creates a very detailed images that'll be printed on a copper sheet coated with a thin layer of silver. The interesting thing about the daguerreotype is that you can't have many copies of the image .. only the original.
